Timpview girls volleyball takes on Salem Hills in a region battle at home. Timpview, a 3-0 team was looking to better their chances at winning region, went against Salem Hills, a 3-1 team in region looking to tie Timpview in the standings.
Timpview started off hot going on a 6-0 run to start off the game. They were able to keep this momentum throughout the first set. At one point, beating Salem Hills 19-10 in the 1st set. Timpview won the first set 25-16.
Salem Hills came stronger in the second set. They were up 10-7 near the start of the 2nd match. Timpview matched them by going on a 9-3 run which made the score 16-13. At the end of the match, Liv Eyre was able to spike the ball to win the 2nd set for Timpview. The score of the 2nd set was 25-22.
Timpview started out the 3rd set slow partly because of distractions in the student section. Salem Hills was getting their way even being up 5 points at a point but Timpview was able to lock in midway through the set. To end the game, Samara Hopoate was able to set Taray Tela up to get a kill. This action pushed Timpview over the top to beat Salem Hills in the 3rd set 27-25 meaning Timpview won the game.
This puts Timpview girls volleyball at 10-5 on the season, and 4-0 in region, which means that they still have the top spot in the region. Timpview volleyball’s next game is at Spanish Fork on Tuesday, September 24. We wish them luck in that game so they can keep their spot!
