Timpview’s homecoming was a huge success, with students from all grades heading to the football field to celebrate.
On Saturday night, Timpview students dressed up for the much-anticipated dance. The event was held on the football field, just a day after the T-birds triumphed over Cedar Valley with a score of 40-10.
Despite the dance location, student government created a large entrance display and a yellow brick road leading to the 50-yard line. Timpview’s classic photo booths made a return, and while some missed the smaller setup, most students appreciated the efficiency of the two larger booths.
Many students might say location doesn’t matter, but the DJ is crucial to the night’s success. He kept the energy high all evening and the mix included rap, 2000s hits, and several Spanish songs, though the absence of slow songs left some students disappointed.
“I was so happy there weren’t any,” one student said. “They’re so sweaty, musty and awkward unless you’re dating.” On the flip side, another student expressed their disappointment, saying, “I was kind of bummed. I didn’t get to dance with him and it’s one of my favorite parts to have a moment to be with my date and dance and talk without worrying about being trampled! Those who went with their boyfriend or girlfriend or just someone they like might actually want to dance with them!”
Overall, Timpview’s homecoming was a night to remember, filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.
