On October 8th, the Timpview Orchestra showcased its talent in a Halloween themed concert featuring multiple pieces from each of its four orchestras. It was incredible to listen to each talented musician work together to create this symphony.
Among the performers was senior Ashlyn Elder, who played Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, accompanied by Timpview’s Chamber Orchestra. Elder has played the violin since she was five years old. Through years of persistent practice, she has mastered the instrument and flawlessly shared her talent with those in attendance. Her solo was perfectly executed and she was the best fit for this opportunity. Ashlyn was selected for her excellent technique and her dedication to music, which was showcased at this performance.
Elder’s talents extend beyond music. She is a dedicated student taking honors and AP classes. She is heavily involved at Smash Dance Academy, and is preparing to play the ballerina doll in their annual Nutcracker performance. Additionally, she serves as president of Timpview’s Dance Company and is rehearsing to perform en pointe in Timpview Theater’s upcoming production of Seussical.
Balancing these activities can be demanding and overwhelming, but Elder does it with ease, leaving time for friends, family, travel, and skiing. She is an inspiration, showing that if you really want to do something, you can make time.
