The Board of Education wanted to spotlight the best and most effective teachers that represent Provo City School District. This month they selected Timpview’s Cassidy Baker for the Provo Way award through principal Tu’ua’s nomination.
Principal Tu’ua nominated her because “Baker is Timpview’s AP World History teacher, student government advisor, and social media specialist.” This isn’t exactly why she won this award though as Cassidy puts effort into all events and students. Tu’ua say “these may be her job titles, but what she does as a teacher and leader among the entire student body is incredible.” Many efforts made by teachers go unnoticed and underappreciated. Baker cares for her students, she is patient, she shows compassion, she always listens to her students, and she has a passion for teaching; she is incredible.
Baker has created an environment where both students and faculty flourish. Her achievements as a teacher are remarkable and she applies herself to every role that she is presented with.
Ms. Baker does so much for Timpview, making her well-loved by all. As she is in charge of the student government she puts so many unappreciated hours into extracurriculars like setting up school dances and sporting events. She also plans most school events and organizes the school clubs.
Baker does so much for Timpview and its students that she deserves every bit of this award.
