From 2000 to 2015, kids got some of the best shows on TV, filled with creativity, laughs, and characters we still love today. This era was truly a golden age for kids’ television. These are my top 5 favorite cartoons while growing up.
One of the best cartoon shows was “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (2005-2008). Following Aang, the last Airbender, on his journey to master the elements and bring peace to a war-torn world. The storytelling and character development from the wisdom of Uncle Iroh to the character development of Zuko and Aang, this show has one of the coolest plots and I still watch this show today.
“Phineas and Ferb” (2007-2015) was another favorite. Phineas and Ferb’s crazy summer projects and their secret agent pet platypus, Perry, always kept things entertaining. The catchy songs and inventive ideas made the show different from others, and each episode never really repeated itself like most cartoon shows do.
Another gem was “Gravity Falls” (2012-2016), which followed twins Dipper and Mabel as they spent their summer in a strange town full of mysteries. The plot twists and relatable characters made it so much fun to watch, and like Phineas and Ferb, it was never the same episode, which made it entertaining every time to watch.
“The Amazing World of Gumball” (2011-2019) had combined many different types and styles of animation and humor to tell the story of Gumball Watterson and his weird family and the people of Elmore. The show had a new situation and approach for every episode.
Lastly, let’s not forget “Teen Titans” (2003-2006). This animated series focused on a group of teen superheroes dealing with their powers and friendships. It taught kids about teamwork while delivering episodes filled with action.
These shows not only were they fun but they shaped childhoods and created lasting memories for us all. Looking back, it’s obvious that the best kids’ shows from 2000-2015 were all about great storytelling and relatable characters. Whether it was Aang’s journey, the crazy ideas of Phineas and Ferb, or the mysteries of Gravity Falls, these shows left a mark on all of us. I will never forget watching all these shows as a kid and the way they made me feel. If you’ve seen these shows, you know how it is to love each and every one of them.
