On Thursday, November 7th, just before 9:00 p.m. and the night before Timpview’s State quarterfinal football game against Orem High School, an unexpected act of vandalism took place on Timpview’s campus. Three students, and a parent, allegedly from Orem High School entered Timpview’s grounds and defaced the student section bleachers, covering them with an unusual mix of milk, glue, baked beans, and glitter.
An unaffiliated Timpview Instagram account, @timpview_barstool_, discovered the vandalism early and quickly posted a message urging students to help clean up the mess. By 9:20 p.m., over 15 Timpview students had gathered with shovels, rags, and cleaning supplies, ready to pitch in. However, by the time they arrived, the cold temperatures had frozen the milk, and the glue had dried, making the cleanup much more challenging than expected.
Despite the freezing temperatures and the stubborn mess, the students worked together, scraping and wiping down the bleachers in an effort to restore them before the game. Although they made some progress, it was clear that a complete cleanup would require significantly more time. While the situation was frustrating, the students’ response showed Timpview’s strong sense of community and school spirit.
Although the vandalism created a significant inconvenience, the Timpview student body quickly demonstrated their willingness to step up. With game time fast approaching, one thing was clear: Timpview students would not let a prank diminish their school pride.
