Roy Davis is a devoted Custodian at Timpview High School, and has been for decades. While walking through the halls of Timpview High School you are likely to see Davis working to make the school a cleaner and better place. Davis’s custodial career has a big history, Davis graduated from Timpview in 1978 and loved the school so much he wanted to return to contribute even more. As of now, Davis has been a Timpview caretaker for over 38 years! Davis is one of the most hardworking individuals, and his work has not gone unnoticed.
Provo School District noticed the work Davis had put in over the years and decided to recognize him. The district says that Davis is “one of the most dedicated workers they have ever seen as part of the staff at Timpview.” This comment on Davis’s dedication should not be taken lightly. Davis is always willing to do what is needed to the very best of his abilities. A member from Provo School District shared that “a perfect example [of his dedication] is when [they] assigned Davis to the football stadium to do field maintenance and clean the grounds and bleachers. He was dedicated to this task and not only did what [they] asked but then did more. He weed-whacked around the football shed and cleaned all the debris under the east bleacher ramp. Again, [they] didn’t specifically ask for these items, but he did it anyway because it made [the] stadium look better!” This is an admirable quality that is finally being properly recognized.
Throughout Davis’s career, he has taken part in many different projects. For example, he has cleaned and repaired the football stadium, all of the gyms, halls, bathrooms, and just about everything else that needed work.
Davis recently said that he would be retiring. Timpview will deeply miss one of their amazing, hard workers that has contributed so much to the school over decades. As a school and community, we wish the best to Davis and what the future has in store for him. The school is going to miss his presence and full dedication.
