At Timpview, the administration works to keep our school running smoothly and efficiently. Our admin is a team with many people specializing in certain areas to provide the best experience at our school. Each year we gain new powerhouses that add to the admin family, as well as the Timpview family. One addition to the admin this year is Brandon Dorathy!
Meet Brandon Dorathy! This is his first year at Timpview, and he spent the last three years at Provo high as a Special Education teacher. Right now, Dorathy is an administrative intern which means, “[his] main job is to support Principle Tu’ua”. A way that Brandon helps our school run smoother, is through working with the attendance and trying to figure out how to get students to come to class. Right now, Powerschool has not been working with the attendance, and Brandon has been trying to figure out how to fix this problem. In this way, he is trying to make a school day run easier for the students, teachers and admin. Dorathy also helps out with making sure Timpview High School stays disciplined, and making sure people know the importance of being in school and being in class. “I think probably about 75% of education is just showing up,” Dorothy told me. He said that the next part is having to do your work, and Dorathy explained that he feels extremely strong about kids receiving their education. If students do their part and come to school, “you are going to be successful, but you will not succeed if you don’t show up”.
If you are bored or need someone to talk to, Brandon is great! He loves baseball, he has four kids, and he graduated with his bachelor’s and master’s from University of Arizona. He even got a second master’s degree in AD leadership. Brandon Dorothy is happy and ready to help with any questions in the main office!
