The Timpview swim team made a splash on Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th, and secured victories against Salem Hills and Maple Mountain in dual meets. The Timpview boys overwhelmed Salem Hills 138-29 on Thursday and followed up with a 132-36 win over Maple Mountain on Friday. The girls’ team mirrored the success, and defeated Salem Hills 108.5-57.5 and Maple Mountain 119-48.
Kate Reichner, a senior standout and Utah Tech commit, delivered stellar performances, and got first place in all her events. Timpview Coach Jefferson McClain described Kate’s leadership in the pool and stated that her “consistency and hard work set the tone for the whole team.” McClain highlighted that it is exciting to see her excel on the route to the championship meets.
There were also notable performances in relay events and individual races. The boys’ team, led by a balanced roster, outpaced their opponents in nearly every event. Meanwhile, the girls relied on a combination of veteran leadership and emerging talent to secure their victories. “We’ve been focusing on technique and endurance all season, and it’s paying off,” Kate Reichner added. “This team is ready to push further as we approach the region and state competitions.” The Thunderbirds will look to continue their momentum in their next meet, and build on their impressive performances as the season heats up.
The Timpview swim team will be competing for their 6th state title Friday, Febuary 14th, and Saturday, Febuary 15! The swimmers would love and appreciate any support from their fellow T-Birds. The event will be held at the Brigham Young University’s Swimming Pool (Richards Building). More details can be found at http://uhsaa.org/swim/2025/StateSwimInfo.pdf!
