2024 was an exciting year at Timpview! Lets do a recap of the top 10 most important Timpview news this year. These are in no particular order.

1. Football team beat Orem for the 7th time in a row.

Orem High has been a long time rival of Timpview, but, the last 7 times we have played them, we have won. In Oct. 2024 we blew them out of the water with a score of  42-8.

2. More parking for Timpview students and faculty.

The past 3 years at Timpview, students have had to park on roads because there were no parking lots being open to them. This year, Timpview opened the upper parking lot as well as a small lower parking lot that will be a larger lot in February of 2025.

3. Girls Cross country wins state!

The Timpview girls cross country team swept the state competition this year and has now won state for the 2nd year in a row!

4. The Drama Department gets a new director.

Mrs. Shanklin Napierski was hired as the new drama director and has improved the Drama department tremendously. Drama was able to pull off The Seussical this year which was extremely time demanding and a very impressive show to watch.

5. Timpview Basketball made it to the Semi’s this year.

The Boy’s Basketball team was extremely impressive during the 2023-2024 season! They played in the Huntsman Center 2x and put on a show for all of the spectators. Unfortunately we lost in the Semi-finals to Alta High School.

6. Timpview vs. Provo football game canceled.

The Timpview v. Provo Football game did not take place this year due to a Timpview Barstool Instagram account making inappropriate comments and threats towards the Provo High’s Football coach.

7. Timpview found funding for the new lunchroom.

As Timpview academic classrooms have been completely redone, some of the old Timpview was left untouched until we found the funding to give it a facelift. In December 2024, administration received the funding to re-do the lunchroom and construction will begin in February 2025.

8. Sub for Santa made the most successful its been in years.

This year, Timpview Student Government took a different approach with Sub for Santa. They used an angel tree which allowed students to shop for a specific child. It gained much traction and allowed Student Government to reach more families than ever before and reach them in a more direct way.

9. Orem students vandalize Timpview bleachers.

The night before the football game against Orem, Orem students poured glue, glitter, milk, and beans all over our bleachers. These destructive ingredients froze on the metal and became extremely hard to remove. Students and the janitors were out for hours so that the students could enjoy the football game the following day. We love our hard working janitors!

10. Tim Shumway breaks the Timpview record for the guy with most girl attention at one time.

Tim attended a party where he kissed over 10 girls in one night. That’s a Timpview record! For weeks after, women were showing up at his door but he denied them all, until Jillian Freedman showed up, which he then walked her home and kissed her on her driveway to ensure her doorbell camera couldn’t catch them.

What a year to be a T-bird! Thank you to all the staff and faculty who allowed us to gather and make forever memories. Here’s to 2025!
