After months of anticipation, Timpview High School has officially opened Phase 3 of its ongoing construction project. Students and staff have patiently awaited each phase of this construction process, and the latest developments promise exciting improvements to both academic and extracurricular activities.
One of the biggest highlights of Phase 3 is the addition of several newly constructed areas. This includes a north gym, two large dance studios, a spacious PE classroom, a driver’s education room, two classrooms, a wrestling room, and a TV studio. These new areas bring athletic, performing arts, and academic opportunities for our students. To celebrate the opening of the new campus wing, Seniors were invited to a special ribbon cutting on Friday, February 21. This included an opening ceremony, donuts, and a 2025 senior class group picture.
Along with the new spaces, significant adjustments have been made to parking and drop off procedures. Starting Monday February 24, student parking, parent drop-off, and the main entrance will move to the South side of campus, near the tennis courts on Timpview Drive. The newly designed drop off area features a double lane system stretching a quarter mile, allowing a more efficient flow of traffic. Students will also benefit from 250 additional parking spaces on the South side of the building. The West and East parking areas that were previously used by students will now be for Faculty & Staff use only.
Another major change is the transition to a one lunch schedule for the entire school. Beginning Monday February 24, lunch will take place from 12:06 p.m. to 12:41 p.m. Monday through Thursday. To accommodate students who prefer a more calm space, Room N-104 with Ms. Ostenson will be designated as a less busy and quieter lunch area. This one lunch schedule has been highly requested by the Timpview student body and seems to be a positive and exciting change for the rest of the 2024-2025 school year.
With Phase 3 now complete, Timpview is one step closer to a fully modernized campus. As construction continues toward the final phases, students can look forward to even more improvements in the coming years. These updates not only provide better learning areas but also exciting spaces to enjoy extracurricular activities, performing arts spaces, and even more.
