Timpview’s Band had their spring concert this past Tuesday, March 11, and it was wonderful!
It started out with the Centennial Middle Honor Band, and their performance which was called “Movie Adventures” was a great start to the concert. This band felt electric and it was amazing to hear all of the instruments work so well together.
Next, the Symphonic Band played. Their section of the concert was loud and fun. And, the director was very into these songs and the whole performance was so passionate. I could tell that there was a lot of practice and commitment that went into these songs. These bands were so fun to watch, as the blend of instruments make such wonderful pieces of music.
In this section, my favorite part was the “Rough Riders.” I could feel the energy through this and it made me appreciate the focus these students have with their instruments. The title of the concert, Spring Band Concert, felt perfect because when I think of spring, I think of joy, excitement, and hope. This is exactly what these songs sounded like as they had joy and an upbeat vibe to them.
The next section was Intermediate Percussion, and the only song they performed was “Tano Argentio.” It was great and it set up the next sections. It also highlighted the talent of the loud instruments, while still making something beautiful.
Next, was Advanced Percussion, and they played “Pajarito” and “Thank You.” These songs were so beautifully different and they each focused on something unique, while still empowering the band.
The last section of the night was Wind Symphony. They played “Emperata Overture,” “Bookmarks” from Japan V, and “March of the Belgian Parachutists.” All of these pieces were amazing, and it was perfect that they ended, because of how it wrapped everything up.
I enjoyed this concert so much as the bands showed their hard work, talent, and beautiful music. It was also meaningful to see how band and music plays such a big part in many people’s lives.
