Senior Assassin is a longstanding tradition at Timpview where seniors have to “kill” their classmates by spraying them with a water gun or a water balloon. While unaffiliated with the school for legal reasons, this game continues to have a chokehold on the student body year after year. This year, there are around 120 seniors playing, the prize money being over a thousand dollars.
Despite the enjoyment of a free-for-all type competition, there are quite a few rules to compete. Many of these rules are basic laws such as no trespassing, no shooting from a running car, and no wearing masks that could hide one’s identity. Others make it possible to attend school and extracurriculars such as no shooting inside the school or on school property for the ten minutes before and after school, no shooting someone while they are on shift, and no shooting people during a school-sponsored extracurricular activity.
Any of these rules could change year-to-year depending on who is running Senior Assassin. Last year, you were unable to kill someone inside their house unless they were invited in, while this year someone could shoot through an open door to kill their target.
This year, there are five rounds scheduled, but these could be cut short based on how quickly people get eliminated or if the final people decide to split the money. The first round runs from April 8 through Thursday, April 10. Round two is from Friday, April 11, to Sunday, April 13. Round three is the following Monday through Thursday, round four the Friday through Sunday of that week, and round five is from the next Monday through Thursday, ending on April 24.
While the game has only been going for a few short days, people are getting eliminated quickly. The past few years have had an Instagram account so students and friends can follow along with who gets eliminated and who gets eliminations. The buzz through Timpview about Senior Assassin each year grows, and many underclassmen enjoy following along as well. Other grades and classes have made their own version of this game in past years to experience some of the excitement. Anyone can follow along this year on Instagram under @timp_senior_assassin2025.
Best of luck to all those playing and may the best assassin win.
