Ingle departs for Lone Peak-Who's the next Head Coach at Timpview?

As of Friday, April 18th, Timpview Boys Basketball does not have a head coach anymore. Israel Ingle accepted a job out at Lone Peak High School. This has saddened some people in the area, but also brought a lot of light to the future of Timpview Basketball. Some are also super excited that the midrange jump shot may be reintroduced to the youth of Provo.

Israel Ingle came to Timpview nearly 4 years ago from Timpanogos High School. At Timpanogos, he was known for taking not very good teams and making them a good team. When he was hired at Timpview, everyone in the area thought it was the next best hire after not giving the job to former BYU assistant Quincy Lewis. Ingle in his first year led the team to a Quarterfinals appearance. Which was better than expected. In his second year, he led Timpview to the state championship but lost to Alta. Timpview nearly had the best talent in the state, and met expectations. In his third year, he led Timpview to 1st in region, but lost in the semifinals to Alta. This team exceeded expectations for being known as super young. In his fourth year, he led the team to the semifinals. He lost to a very good Olympus team. This team did not meet expectations, because they were picked to win it, especially when Orem got knocked out to Brighton in the Quarterfinals. In the Ingle Era, he posted a 71-34 record. Which is very good for a coach, but was never able to write his name in the history books with a state championship.

There is a bunch of speculation of why Ingle left. Some believe he was under pressure and may have been fired in the next 2 years. Others speculate that he is getting paid more over at Lone Peak. Nobody truly knows why he moved other than Ingle. It was very surprising because they may have returned everybody and had another shot at a State Championship run. But this leaves a big question now. Who is the next head coach?

The next head coach will have to be very good. Timpview Basketball has a rich history of winning. Timpview Boys basketball has posted 6 state championships in its history, which is up there with the best. It has also seen very good players like Gavin Baxter (BYU, Utah), Jake Wahlin(Utah, Clemson), Hunter Erickson(Utah, Hawaii), and even Cameron Chow (USC, Timpview English Department). People in the area have said some names that might apply for the job. Such as Nate Warner, Skyridge HC Jeff Gardner, English Department Member Cameron Chow, Travis Tollestrup, etc.

This is gonna be a lengthy process picking out a brand new head coach. Parents will be urging for a coach as they start up summer basketball. It will be interesting to see who applies for this job, as well as who gets this job. We wish Israel Ingle the best, unless he is playing Timpview!
