This Saturday, September 27 @ 7 pm, Timpview will have their Shakespeare Showcase.
Drama 4 has been working on various Shakespeare pieces since the first day of school, heavily involved in the decision-making, cutting, and researching of the scripts. They have been preparing to take them to the Shakespeare Competition in Cedar City, which takes place the first week of October.
“It was really cool because it was something that not only do we get to perform, but we also helped to create it.” Junior Ian Reeve expressed. “Our piece(s) are incredibly beautiful, because we’ve all put our hearts and souls into them.”
The Shakespeare Showcase will feature the Drama 4 ensemble scene, Tongues in Trees. While most schools pull material from a single Shakespeare scene and play, Timpview Theatre director Kennedy Napierski wanted to have scenes from multiple shows, including As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, and Titus Andronicus.
Junior Elizabeth Partridge shared her excitement for their upcoming performance. “I’m super excited to perform. We’ve been putting a lot of work into this scene in order to get ready to compete at the Shakespeare Festival. I think Napierski’s vision for this scene is coming to life.”
The Shakespeare Showcase will also feature the following:
Monologue…………..Martin Cañoles Ortega (Friar/Duke from Measure for Measure)
Tempest…………..Ian Reeves, Gaines Okeson, Sam Wilson
Monologue…………..Ellie Mason (Touchstone from As You Like It)
King Lear…………..Claire Moreira, Margaret V Clark, and Vienna Van Dyke
Monologue…………..Sophia Morris (Juliet from Romeo and Juliet)
“Please, please come!” Senior Vienna Van Dyke encouraged. “It’s fascinating to all the different emotions a cast can make, and the settings that can pop up from just tree branches and vocal techniques!!”
Come support Timpview Theatre this weekend, and enjoy of taste of what drama has been working on!
