    El Pollo Royo Restaurant Review

    El+Pollo+Royo+Restaurant+Review

Need a quick, cheap, and tasty lunch spot? Look no further than El Pollo Royo—North Provo’s newest student friendly restaurant.

Freshmen have begun to experience the wonders of El Pollo Royo, as it is within reasonable walking distance from Timpview, located right next to Days Market. Provo’s El Pollo Royo, pronounced “el poy-yo roy-yo”, is the second of two locations in the chain, and opened in the Fall of 2017.

What makes this place so great? $1.00 street tacos says it all. For those of us who prefer not to clean out our wallets for lunch everyday, this little taco shop is an answer to our prayers. El Pollo Royo dishes up warm authentic Mexican creations—the student discounted $1.00 street taco being the crown jewel. Choose either fresh asada, chicken, pastor, chorizo, or carnitas, then top it with a variety of salsas from the salsa bar. El Pollo Royo’s tacos are a simple but life changing treat. Exotic flavors burst in your mouth, but blend together to create a satisfying fiesta. You’ll think you’re buying tacos right off the street in Mexico City.

My personal favorite is three asada tacos topped with onions, cilantro and salsa verde.

However, there’s more to the menu than tacos. If you’re craving something a little more filling, try the enchiladas, burrito or quesadilla. The menu is sure to please any palate—and any wallet.

Sophomores, juniors, seniors, or anyone else who can drive, El Pollo Royo isn’t just for the freshmen! Drive on over today and beat the line.
