Student Feature: Meet Maddy Boulton
April 26, 2018
Junior Madelyn Boulton, also known as Maddy, is a brilliant, go-getter, got-her-life-under-control type of girl.
After several years of knowing Maddy she has not yet failed to impress me. Maddy boasts an endless bank of talents, including heavy involvement in academics and sports.
Maddy is on the cross country, basketball, and track teams.

The impressive part is that she is not only involved in these sports, but extremely competitive. Maddy is the fastest girl on Timpview’s cross country team. This year at NXR she ran an exceptional time of 18:02 in the 5K. In track, her mile time is 5:21 and her two mile time is 11:29. These times make Maddy very competitive at the state level.
Running is Maddy’s passion and she plans to continue to compete in college. “It’s really hard but all your work goes into something and you’re able to achieve goals,” she said. “You learn a lot of lessons in cross country that you can apply in your life.”
Between the cross country and track seasons, Maddy is a starter on the basketball team and helped get them to the state finals this past season.

After hearing about Maddy’s extraordinary athletic abilities, one might wonder how she has time for anything else. She still makes family a priority, however, taking time after practice to help her six younger siblings. She is also dedicated to church obligations and a loyal friend.
Among the classes Maddy is taking are Physics and AP Calculus, AP English, and AP US History. Many people are unaware of her unrivaled talents in the art world as well, as she is a skilled painter and potter.
Though I may not know how Maddy does it, the fact is that she does it. And because Maddy does what she does, Timpview is a better place. Maddy is one of the many multifaceted and talented students that give us T-Birds one more thing to be proud of.
