    Romeo and Juliet closing night

Friday Feb 10th at 7pm is the closing night of Timpview’s production of Romeo and Juliet. This time-twist on a classic depicts the historic rivalry between Californian Beach Boys groupies (the Montagues) and English Beatles maniacs (the Capulets) battling it out in the streets of Ventura, California in the 1960’s. Juliet, a British immigrant, and Romeo, a native surfer, defy the stars to come together in forbidden matrimony.
Each year, the Shakespeare play auditions are open to all students, many are Timpview Drama veterans, others first-time thespians. For just over a month the students spend the entirety of their free time memorizing lines, blocking out scenes, and practising their groovy dance moves all for the enjoyment of Timpview’s students, parents, and faculty. Supporting the cast is, Jason Purdie, the drama teacher and director, Lizzie Moulton, costumer, Chalise Taylor, choreographer, and Eliza Sulivan, stage manager, who’ve given their all to pull together a rambunctious cast and crew.
Tickets are already scarce, and three of the last four shows sold out even after adding extra seats so purchase tickets here or come early to ensure your seat.
