Timpview vs Orem
February 17, 2023
Timpview lost a close game to rival Orem on their Senior Night last Tuesday. Timpview won the previous meeting at Orem 46-43.
Seniors James Rust, Eli St Clair, Taki Uluilakepa, and Zu Marquez were ready to put on a show for the last home game of their career. Both teams match up very well and it was shaping up to be a high-energy rival game.
Early in the game star point guard Taki Uluilakepa went down on a hard foul after a tough layup that left him with a head injury. Timpview was going to have to play without one of their best scorers for the game.
The bench players were going to need to step it up in order to win against a good young Orem team. Going into halftime Orem barely had the advantage leading by 1 point. The two teams were trading buckets back and forth in the 3rd quarter and Timpview found themselves leading going into the fourth quarter. It was an impressive outing from freshman Dean Rueckert, he lead Timpvirew in scoring with 17 points and had a huge poster dunk in the 4th quarter that got the crowd into the game. It was a tight game in the fourth quarter but a small run by Orem was the deciding factor.
Freshman guard, Anthony Felesi, knocked down clutch buckets as he lead the game in scoring with 18 points. Timpview fell short 68-60 losing on Senior Night as the rivals split the games in the season series. Orem moves to 12-9 on the season as Timpview falls to 14-8. With only 1 game left in the season, Timpview looks to end on a big game vs Jordan and looks to make a big playoff run.
