Timpview Girls’ Lacrosse Gets Big Win at Jordan

Last year, our Timpview girls’ lacrosse team would groan whenever we heard we had to play Jordan High School. In previous years, Jordan was one of the best teams in our region, going all the way to the state lacrosse championship. But boy have the tables turned.

Thursday night the lady thunderbirds played Jordan High School, sweeping the field with them for a score of 21-7. Three of our Varsity members scored almost double hat tricks: Mia Knight, Bethany Smith, and Lauren Robertson. Mia and Lauren with 5 goals each and Bethany with 4 goals.

At the beginning of the game, Jordan took the first goal. That first goal was exactly what our lady thunderbirds needed, motivating them to put it all out on the field. After that, our girls just kept on scoring left and right, ending the first half with a score of 14-4. Our team knew that after half time Jordan would try to strike back and we were ready. Our strong offense and defense only allowed 3 goals made by Jordan in the second half. Our girls kept on striking goals and scored 7 more during the second half. Thus ending the game with a whopping 14-point lead.

As we continue throughout the season, our team hopes to keep up the energy and bring back victories. We hope that with how the first few games have gone, that we end up making it far in state and hope to see our fellow thunderbirds supporting us. Let’s make this season great!
