On September 29, 2023, Timpview had its weekly football game against Wasatch. We celebrated our seniors on the Timpview team, sharing our appreciation for the team through announcements, posters, and social media posts.

Senior night is a celebration of the seniors on the football team. They’re acknowledged and thanked for the four years they have sacrificed to improve the team. The players expressed a lot of mixed emotions. “It’s a sense of satisfaction, the whole four years being celebrated,” offered defensive lineman Jacob Rust. “We spent so much time and work in those four years.”

Timpview’s senior night couldn’t have gone any better. Timpview beat Wasatch 44-7, Improving their record to 6-2. Although it wasn’t exactly on home turf, Rust explained: “(playing for Timpview) gives me pride playing for the school. I’ve been a T-bird my whole life and now finally being able to play for the team and be celebrated with the team is a surreal feeling.” 

Leaving the team means leaving the brotherhood. As corner Grady Gregory put it, “The thing I’ll miss the most is just being around all the boys and all the memories and funny times we’ve had.”

Just because you break up with the team doesn’t mean you break up with the teammates. “The bonds will last forever” Gregory explained.

Senior night is a reflective and emotional game for the whole team. They feel the brotherhood they’ve built over years of blood, sweat, and tears. The last game of the season before playoffs will be on Friday. Stay tuned for more coverage.
