What do you teach?
CE Math 1010/Math 1030/Math 1050/Math 1060. I also do one SM3 accelerated, where the students finish SM3 in one semester
What’s your favorite thing to teach?
I like teaching everything I am teaching now, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be Math 1060, Trigonometry. I love doing concurrent enrollment because the students are getting college credit.
How many years have you been teaching?
This year is my 29th year.
How many years have you been at Timpview?
I have been at Timpview for 17 years
What’s your favorite thing about teaching?
I love working with the students. I love to see them change their attitudes about math. I want them to believe in themselves. If they believe they can, they can. I can do hard things! I want them to know how to think, not just memorize formulas or mimic what I do. If they can learn how to think it will benefit them in more ways than just math.
What’s your favorite thing about Timpview?
The teachers, I love working with the math department teachers. Everyone is very collaborative and we all help each other.
What’s the hardest thing about teaching?
I wish I had more time to cover material. I have to get through so much so they can pass the Final at the end of the semester. I really wish we could spend more time on some of the really important concepts.
Why do you keep teaching?
I love working with students every day. Helping them succeed and be proud of themselves. The best part of my job is when a student says “ohhh” because they get something they never had before. That makes my day and helps me get through the days 🙂

Haven’t seen you in a few years Terry I’m glad to see you’re still teaching.
