From March 28th to April 7th, a group of Timpview students got to experience some the country of Ecuador on a learning tour that took them through the different ecosystems found in the country.
Eleven students under by Language Arts teacher Cameron Chow’s supervision, visited a variety of National Parks throughout the country of Ecuador. Some parks included the Cotopaxi, the Galapagos islands, and a multitude of others.
On the Galapagos Islands students visited the Twin Craters, the Charles Darwin Research Station, the Tintoreras Lava Islet and Tortuga Bay
Back on the mainland of Ecuador students visited the equator, the Amazon Rainforest, and visited with the indigenous Kichwa community in Tena, Ecuador.
One student mentioned that their favorite part, amongst the places we visited, was the people. Junior Meadow Steweart explained, “When I think about the trip I think less about the stuff we did, but the people who were surrounding me when it happened. Seeing beautiful things with amazing people.”
The group bounded greatly from day, and got to be close friends by the end of the trip.
With over 15 outdoor activities in 10 days, students endured a long, exhausting, and exciting trip that helped them gain a deeper perspective on the world we live in. The group experienced many trials but in the end, grew closer together to create life-long lasting memories, and stories to share for years to come.
