Do you constantly find yourself swamped at the end of the term? Do you tell yourself this will be the term you keep up with your work just for it to be the same? Do you study the night or morning before a test? Do you have concepts of a plan to be a responsible student? Do you want to do well in school but end up putting things off until it’s too late?
If any of these predicaments sound familiar, you could be suffering from procrastination.
While this may seem like a jarring diagnosis, there are lots of ways to get support. These resources include online forums and a Procrastinators Club at our very own Timpview High School. Both of these initiatives are expected to start soon.
After several months and three last minute cancellations, Thunderbolt reporters were able to sit down with the ambitious students who plan to fight and bring awareness to the academic inhibitor that is procrastination. When asked roughly how many students experience procrastination, founders responded that they, “have not yet researched it but think it’s probably a lot.”
The founders have yet to officially establish the club. They are planning to ask Timpview administration for a club application deadline extension, as the final deadline was in the fall.
Although no members have officially signed up, founders are optimistic about a large turn out, reporting, “many students have told us that they will sign up eventually.”
When the day we’ve all been waiting for finally comes and the Procrastinators Club is up and running, students wishing to join can get connected and learn about meetings though an Instagram, GroupMe, or Email send-out, depending on what the founders decide.
This is very exciting news for Timpview! While the founders have not given an official start date, students are highly encouraged to sign up as soon as they hear that it’s been created.
