Excitement is building once again as the annual Timpview Spirit Bowl returns to our school this coming Thursday, May 1st. Last year, the sophomores stole the show, surprising everyone with their unmatched energy, creativity, and teamwork. Now, as juniors, the question on everyone’s mind is: can they do it again?
Last year’s victory wasn’t just luck. The Class of 2026, the now juniors, brought their A-game to every event from the “yell your year” to the relay races, and even the dress up days. Their spirit was contagious, and their ability to work together set them apart. No senior wants to lose to a sophomore.
This year, the current sophomores are stepping up. As they are trying to follow in the footsteps of last year’s class, but the Juniors are determined to take the trophy once again. Although the seniors have a chance, I believe it will come down to the sophomores and juniors.
But, with a year of experience and even more pride on the line, the juniors seem determined to defend their title. They’ve already started earning points by participating in dress up days. They won the homecoming games back in August, and are currently leading in dress up points with the Sophomores trailing behind, the seniors seem to have lost hope.
But the competition will be fierce. The seniors, fearful, are eager to claim their traditional spot at the top, while the sophomores are eager to prove they can keep up, and the sophomores —only having been to one spirit bowl— might just pull a few surprises. The Spirit Bowl is always unpredictable, and that’s what makes it exciting.
One thing’s for sure: the juniors have a target on their backs. Everyone saw what they were capable of last year, and now all eyes will be on them to see if they can rise to the occasion again. Will they be the first class in recent memory to win back-to-back Spirit Bowls? We’ll find out soon. One thing we can say is our lineup is strong, we have returning champs, new games and new competitors to represent our year.
No matter what happens, it’s clear that the spirit, pride, and competition are alive and stronger than ever at Timpview. Everyone wants to take the trophy, but only one grade can be the spirit bowl champs. Let the games begin!
