The Timpview Girls soccer team was defeated by the Spanish Fork Dons 1-1, Tuesday night at Timpview. The Thunderbirds are now 12-2 on the season and leading the way in region 7 one game in front of the Spanish Fork Dons. Also now sitting at first in the state being followed closely behind by the Olympus Titans.
Goalkeeper Amaya Tolman gave me the inside scoop of what was going on with the team. Saying “ They are feeling great, considering what happened last year.” She went on to say that they are excited to keep competing down the stretch for a region championship. And later a State Championship. She further explained that they need to keep working hard and staying focused. And the game and success will come to them. Looking ahead to this week and Maple Mountain on Thursday. Spanish Fork is in second place in the region behind Timpview. A win would be very important for region standing and placing for the State tournament. Amaya is leading the way for the Thunderbirds with 48 saves and 9 shutouts on the year. She is backed up by Ava Badger who has 7 goals on the year and averages 0.5 goals per game.
The Thunderbirds are headed into the final stretch of the season and are looking to finish strong. With 4 games left to play in region. They need to come up with some big wins to finish the season.
