Asher Little a junior at Timpview Highschool just recently got back from the World age group competitions. More commonly known as the world championships. This competition was in Birmingham, England, and Asher competed in the double mini-trampoline. Asher mentioned that “It was an amazing experience to be able to compete for Team USA at the World Championships. I completed all 6 of my routines, and brought home a silver medal”.
Despite his skills, gymnastics was not always easy for Little. He mentioned that “Back in 202, I found out that I had fractured 2 of the vertebrae in my back.”
This put him out of training for 4 months. Although he eventually recovered from his back injury, he ended up breaking his collarbone, putting him out of training for an extra 2 months.
Little then came back to training for around a year, but later on in the season re-fractured both vertebrae, putting him out of training for another 3 months. In Dec. of 2022 Little started training again, and competed in January of that year to then finish out the 2023 competition season.
Asher started gymnastics when he was 7 years old, and since then has been training at High Altitude, doing trampoline and tumbling. Though he started gymnastics young, one goal Little has always had is to qualify and compete at the 17-21 World Championships for double mini, and maybe one day for Little to become a world champion.
Asher is very successful and dedicates a lot of time to his sport, but at the end of the day, Asher is just a normal kid. He enjoys coaching trampoline and tumbling. In his free time, Little enjoys watching movies, playing old video games, and hanging out with friends.
If you see Asher make sure to congratulate him and wish him luck with his career.
