Wonka

Wonka

The new movie Wonka is a prequel to the classic, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Wonka was a very well-produced movie and includes big-name actors like Timothee Chalamet, Keegan Michael-Key, Hugh Grant and Rowan Atkinson. This is an essential watch to learn about Willy Wonka’s early life and how he started his chocolate factory.

The actors in this movie played their part to a point. Willy is a good young man who relies on the good of people. This gets him into trouble at Scrubbet and Bleacher because they take advantage of the fact that he trusts people. All he wants is to share chocolate with the world and will do anything to accomplish his goal. The 3 villains were the most exceptional actors in the whole movie. Slugworth, Fickelgruber, and Prodnose were played the best with quality attributes to all of them.

Here I’ve ranked multiple categories based on the following:

Performance: 9/10

  • The actors were humorous which made the movie easy to watch and understand
  • Acting was seamless and had no flaws
  • Adds humor to the evil so it’s not too dark but not too light, a perfect balance

Production: 10/10

  • No CGI flaws
  • Special effects are very real
  • Ideas were very creative

Effort: 9/10

  • Singing and acting is elite
  • The actors are sincere and believable
  • Dedicated to the characters

Willy:

  • Puts all his trust in the people
  • Relies on the good of people
  • Just wants to share his chocolate
  • You can tell something is a little off about him

Overall this is well worth your watch. It is awesome to learn about the early life of Willy Wonka. It ties the two movies together incredibly well and shows how Willy first started as a bright young man and got discouraged by mankind. It shows why he became so grumpy and does not trust anyone except the Oompa Loompas. In the end, this is a well-produced prequel to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
