Coming off their first home opener loss vs Westlake (73-50), the girls basketball team looks to pick up their first win of the season against the Alta Hawks. This will be the second home opener, and the Thunderbirds are looking for a big bounce back. The game is set to be played Monday (Nov. 24) at 5:15 pm at the Thunderdome.

The Alta Hawks are yet to play their first game, but are set to be a good challenge. Having many returning players and coming off a 14-11 season from last year, the Hawks are looking to make a deep playoff run. The hawks are led by seniors Alia Baldassano, Quincy Kegel, Olivia Maughan-burum, and Zealand Hatch. Coached by the experienced Julie Larsen, the Hawks look to set the tone early in this game.

The Thunderbirds are looking to set the tone early in this upcoming game. Guards Tasi Galea’i, Zion Lloyd, and Bella Ballin look to lead the team and push the pace of the game early. Allowing 73 their first game, the teams focus is on getting halfcourt stops, and preventing any fast transition buckets. On the offensive side, the team looks to get more control of the paint, and score a greater percentage of their points there.
