Guys we did it! We made it to fourth term! Maybe I’m unrealistically happy because I just finished third term junior year, which everyone says is the worst term of high school, but regardless, we’re in the home stretch.
There are two more dances before the end of the school year, Prom and the Senior Dinner Dance. Prom, while technically for everyone, is primarily for juniors and seniors (freshmen and sophomores, wait your turn please), while the Dinner Dance will be seniors only.
The theme for Prom this year is La La Land, think night skies and trippy colors and jazz music. It will be April 25th at Timpview High School from 8 to 11 PM. Promenade will be from 8 to 9 PM only.
Tickets will be $15 per person and will include pictures at the dance. As always, students will need to be in the green or yellow attendance to attend and must bring their receipt and student ID to check in at the dance.
If you plan to bring a date from another school, you will need to complete a guest pass and turn it into the Main Office 1 full week prior to the dance.
The theme for the Senior Dinner Dance is Black and White, like the Black and White Ball in Cruella (the themes for these two dances are really just “movies that feature Emma Stone”). It will be May 2nd from 7 to 10 PM at the Timpview High School Stadium. Tickets will be $5 per person and you need to RSVP by March 14th (which is already passed, sorry). There is no need to bring a date, this is just one final hurrah for you guys before you leave high school.
If you need more reason to go, I encourage you to read the amazing Ryan Clarke’s story, Why YOU Should Go To Senior Dinner Dance … Yes YOU.
These dances are going to be formal and fabulous, a fantastic way to end our school year. Whether you’re celebrating being done with the ACT, being done with all of high school, or just the fact that it’s almost summer, these are great opportunities to get all dressed up and hang out with your friends for a night of cliche high school fun.
It’s been a great year, and I’m happy to have brought you all the dance information with a healthy dose of mildly sarcastic commentary. This is your resident dance girl signing off until next year!
