After their first away game against the Skyridge Falcon’s, the Girls Basketball team has fallen to 0-3 on the season, and look to pick up their first win of the season. The team is set to play the Lehi Pioneers this Tuesday (Dec. 2) at 7 pm. This will be the team’s second road game, and the Pioneers are 3-0 on the season, which is going to be a great test for the Thunderbirds if they want to pick up their first win of the year.
At a blistering hot 3-0, the Lehi team picked up wins vs Cyprus (62-7), Riverton (53-37), and Payson (52-31). The team is led by seniors Madi Andrews, Brynlee Cook, Madi Ogden, and Macy Soelberg. Having a winning reputation, the team looks to be state title contenders for 6A. Finishing 13-11 last year, and having many returning players, it seems that the team has improved greatly.
In order to beat this team, the Thunderbirds are going to have to put up high numbers on offense, which none of Lehi’s opponents have been able to do as of yet. With not a single team putting up more then 40 points on the pioneers, breaking down their defense could pose as a problem. On the defensive end, the Thunderbirds have been improving as the season goes on. Allowing 73 points on their first game, the team responded their next to games, holding Alta to 54, and skyridge to 62. It’s vital that the team gets the ball rolling, and hopefully picks up their first win of the year!
Come support your team at Lehi!
