Having a slow start to the season, the Thunderbirds have fallen to 0-4 after their loss to the Lehi Pioneers (37-57). Following that outline at Lehi, the team is set to play the Cedar Reds, Friday (Dec. 5) @ 5:15 pm, in the Thunderdome. This will be the teams third home game, and they look to pick up their first win of the season.
The Cedar Reds have started their season off strong, going 2-1 on the year, only losing to Layton Christian Academy 55-52 in overtime. Star guard, Gabby Gomez has had a strong season debut, dropping a 29 point game against Canyon View. She’ll be on the lookout during the upcoming matchup. Last year, the Cedar Reds finished 14-9, being ranked 23 in the state. As they have many returning players, their team will be a good challenge.
As for our Thunderbirds, it’s going to be a test to see if the offense can get going right from the get go. Only scoring 37 against Lehi raised concerns about the efficiency and capabilities of the offense. Turnovers and low three point percentages have been a challenge, which will hopefully turn around soon, as the team puts in work daily. Guards Tasi Galeai, Bella Ballin, and Zion Lloyd look to contribute most of the scoring on the Timpview end. The game will be a whole team effort, and will test the team’s ability to get the ball rolling.
Come support your team at the Thunderdome this Friday!
