Christmas traditions are a fun and easy way to get to know your friends and family a little better this holiday season. There are many discussions on which are the best Christmas traditions. Timpview’s students also have opinions on this subject.
Senior Hazel Weaver admitted that choosing just one favorite tradition was tough, but ultimately decided on Christmas breakfast, saying how there was something so special about the way all the dishes came together to make a delicious and festive meal that feels unique to Christmas morning. She expressed the excitement she felt every year, being surrounded by family and listening to Christmas music. This is a popular tradition that many families partake in, and it is especially important to Hazel.
“I love it because it’s the best time of the year. My mom always goes all out with the food, and it’s so fun to see what she makes. I am excited to see what’s on the table this year.” stated Hazel. For her, it’s not just about the food, but it’s also about the connection, the laughter, and the happiness of sitting at the table with the people she loves most.
Zed Anahu-Ambrosio, though shared a different but just as meaningful tradition. He shared that his family spends Christmas Day at the beach, something that has been part of his life since he was a kid. For him, being from Hawaii, Christmas means warm sand, gentle waves, and a sunny day spent doing what he loves most: being with family.
Their family tradition includes bringing a speaker down to the beach to play Christmas music while they relax, play games, and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. “It’s fun to celebrate Christmas in a way that feels unique to where we’re from,” he stated.
While Hazel and Zed’s traditions may look different, from a cozy breakfast and snowy vibes to a day at the beach, they both center on the same thing: family, love, and creating memories during the most wonderful time of the year.
There are still many traditions that exist that can be widely celebrated or individual to families. Everyone has their favorite, but the traditions celebrated by students at Timpview are diverse and fun.
