Why should you?

Environmental engagement is so important. Pollution is a serious global health crisis, contributing to 15 million deaths annually. That’s more than malnutrition, communicable diseases, and homicides combined! Even though the statistics are scary, change starts with students like you and me. By joining the club, you are directly helping make our community healthier and raising awareness about environmental health and safety.

What we do

The environmental club provides opportunities for community service, like trash pickups and organized hikes that connect us with the beauty of Utah! There’s also some activities volunteering at shelters. There are also plenty of opportunities to meet some super fun people and develop practical skills, showing how this club creates a perfect blend of hands-on conservation work and social connection.

Beyond service, our club is an excellent way to get involved in environmental career opportunities. Environmental science is one of the fastest growing fields globally, with over 100,000 new jobs created in the last couple years. If you’re in HOSA, environmental club is great because it gives you great opportunities to find value in understanding how environmental factors directly impacts public health. Being in environmental club will also boost your college application. Colleges are increasing looking for students who show commitment to global issues.
