On January 5th, hundreds of celebrities gathered on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California to showcase their glamorous looks at the 82nd Golden Globes. These A-list celebrities take months to plan their ensembles to debut at the award show. Here are some of the looks that stood out:
Ariana Grande:
Ariana Grande chose to steer away from the classic “Glinda Pink” for this event. The “Wicked” star chose a more pale yellow to symbolize the classic yellow brick road. Her silk dress is vintage from Givenchy. While many didn’t love the fit and style of the dress, I think her look is very classy and beautiful, although I believe she could’ve picked a color that would have better complimented her skin tone.
Cynthia Erivo:
Cynthia Erivo wore a dress that correlates with her character Elphaba in her new movie “Wicked”. She wore a bold Louis Vuiton gown paired with her signature couture long nails. Many people adored her look and thought she really embodied her character in her own way. While I am a fan of classy looks, I do love the edgy but enchanting approach Erivo took.
Timothee Chalamet:
Timothee Chalamet wore a Tom Ford suit that was tailored perfectly to him. He added a unique touch with wrapping his tie around his neck which personally I find unnecessary. However I do think the boots he paired with his look was a nice touch. Chalamet was nominated for his newest film, “A Complete Unknown” which just recently hit theaters.
Zendaya:
Zendaya knocked it out of the ballpark with a graceful saffron Louis Vuitton gown. Critics went wild over this simple yet extravagant look. She paired her gown with a pair of matching saffron pumps. She also debuted a possible engagement ring on her left ring finger and there was even talk of a Tom Holland tattoo which the press went wild over.
Coleman Domingo:
Coleman Domingo dressed in Valentino debuted a very simple yet smashing look. He stuck to just simple black and white but amped up to another level. I admire the subtle bow ties on his loafers. I also will compliment him on the polka dot undershirt that pairs beautifully with his tie. This is one of my favorite looks of the night for its class and uniqueness.
Margret Qualley:
Margret Qualley debuted a stunning Chanel dress. She paired the classy dress with big diamond earrings that pulled the look together. Many loved this dress and I agree that it might be one of my favorite looks of the night. Qualley attended the award show for her new film, “The Substance” which has quickly risen up in the ranks.
That concludes some of the best looks of the Golden Globes. These unique looks not only highlighted individual style but they also set the scene for upcoming fashion trends. The Golden Globes is just the start to award show season where many new exciting looks will make their debut!
