Timpview inches closer to a State Title

This past Friday, Timpview’s football team defeated Provo yet again to advance to the semifinals in the 5A football tournament.

The Bulldogs came out with a bang, creating a scoring drive that put them up 7-0 with 7:13 left to play in the first quarter. Unfortunately for Provo, these would be the last points they would score for the duration of the game. Timpview’s defense played extremely well, allowing only 124 yards total for the Bulldogs. The final score was 26-7.

Despite the success last week, the players are focused on the upcoming task. When asked how he feels about the upcoming game, junior defensive player Vave Adolpho said, “We’re going to come out and do our best to execute our assignments one play at a time for all 4 quarters.”

Junior player Raider Damuni is also optimistic about the upcoming game. “I’m feeling confident and I know what our team is capable of doing.” He continues,”Our coaches have us prepared, now it’s our turn to execute! Beating Lehi is a tough task but I know we can do it. We’ve got to feed off the game last week and carry it on to Thursday.”

Timpview plays Lehi at 2:30pm this Thursday at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake. The chances are looking good, as Timpview beat Lehi 28-9 back in September. If Timpview wins once again, they’ll advance to the state championship to face either Orem or Salem Hills. Timpview hasn’t been this close to another ring since 2015 when they lost to East High in the championships. This team hopes they can get the job done and bring another banner to 3570 Timpview Dr.
