On Friday, November 7th 2025, the Recording Academy unveiled the 2026 Grammys nominations. Many nominees include fan favorites like Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Tyler, The Creator, and more. The academy also announced two new categories including Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country album.
The main Grammy categories are the “Big Four” general field awards, listed below:

Rapper Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s nominations by receiving 9 total, potentially breaking the record for the most rap wins. Lamar is up for back-to-back titles including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Performance. In a close second place is Lady Gaga, producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff, with seven nominations each. In third place is Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Leon Thomas, each up for six categories.
Some other notable highlights include the Wicked soundtrack receiving four nominations! The soundtrack is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and Best Instrumental Composition. These nominations prove that movie soundtracks can compete alongside today’s biggest chart-toppers.
However, not everyone made the list this year. Several major artists were left out completely in the 2026 nominations. Artists like Lorde, Benson Boone, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd and Playboi Carti received zero nominations this year despite having a great year for their music. Many fans went to the internet leaving comments on how shocked they were about this.
The Grammys is scheduled to take place Sunday, Feb 1st 2026, at the Crypto.com in Los Angeles. It will be available to watch on the CBS Television Network or by streaming live on Paramount+. Let us know which stars you are rooting for!
