November just ended, and with it came the new season of a huge video game, Fortnite. This video game is known for being free and its battle royal mode. It has a colorful cartoon style, constant updates, and massive crossover events with today’s pop culture icons. Season 7 Chapter 1 is the newest update. The season started with a whole new way to get on the map: instead of the famous battle bus, players roll in on a wave. The map is very similar to its new “battle bus”, including a West Coast themed map with many famous destinations. With the new season came new items and boss powers. 

This new season’s brought lots of new things to the game and cool, new collaborations. The Battle Pass features Kill Bill’s Bride and Back to the Future’s Marty McFly. Some other major gameplay shifts are the new wingsuits that can shoot you up and make you glide through the sky. Another change is the addition of hot air balloons that carry rare chests on them. The biggest shift of all in your gameplay is the Reboot Vans. Players can now drive around the Reboot Vans while a partner is in it! This addition is huge because we have never seen anything like it. Lastly, one more major update is the self revives. This update creates a way to self revive yourself when you get knocked. There are plenty of new items that add a new level of excitement and adventure to the game.

The new season also brought new bosses to the game. There are three main bosses: Beach Brutus, Hush, and Human Bill. They each drop their own mythic weapon, all of which are very powerful, along with a new power up with which you can become the boss and gain powers. When you transform into the bosses you gain extra health, you have 125 health and 125 shield, but when you use their powers, you get an overshield of 100. With this new power-up, players can have the most health in the game.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, themed around the U.S. West Coast, “Pacific Break,” introduced new locations like Wonkeeland, Battlewood Boulevard, Latte Landing, Sandy Strip, Sus studios, and Innoloop Labs. These new maps are inspired by Hollywood, California, and Las Vegas. 

Overall, I’ve personally had lots of fun playing the new Fortnite season, and I think there are many more great additions and new experiences to come!
