Every new year, like many, I make an unrealistic goal to read a bunch of books for the following year, many of which end up getting pushed back into the next year’s reading goal. However, I have a good feeling about my 2026 TBR (to be read) because I now have a Kindle that aids in me finishing a hefty book in just a few days. This year i’ve set my goal to 50 books, if you are in need of any books to add to your list, here are a few that on mine:
Beautiful Boy (David Sheff)
After seeing the movie adaptation, I have had this book on my TBR shelf for awhile. This book follows a father who watches his son struggle with addiction and does everything he can to love him and not lose him.
Elvis and Me (Priscilla Presley)
The movie Priscilla sparked my interest in Priscilla Presley and her life while being married to Elvis Presley. This book tells the story of how the two met and their relationship while also following how Priscilla found herself.
Atomic Habits (James Clear)
This is a highly rated book that is about forming small daily habits that lead to big long-term change. This book will go hand-in-hand with my other New Year’s resolutions.
Man’s Search for Meaning (Viktor Frankl)
After receiving a recommendation to read this book, it was immediately added to my list. Viktor Frankl tells his first-hand account of the Holocaust and how he found purpose whilst enduring suffering.
The Song of Achilles (Madeleine Miller)
I am a huge fan of romance novels, and this one is highly recommended in the romance community. The book is based on the Trojan War and focuses on the deep friendship and romance between Achilles and Patroclus.
Magnolia Parks (Jessa Hastings)
This book is a series and while I often have a hard time finishing a book series’, this one has received high ratings, which is why it landed a spot on my TBR. The story follows Magnolia Parks, a wealthy socialite who falls into a toxic romance with a rebel.
Maid written (Stephanie Land)
Earlier this year I watched the series adaptation of this book and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the book, which follows a young mother who escapes an abusive relationship and struggles to survive by working as a house cleaner.
The Hunger Games series (Suzanne Collins)
The Hunger Games is a very popular series, yet I have only read the first book; in 2026 I plan to read the rest, including the new ones coming out. The dystopian story follows Katniss, a girl who volunteers to fight in a deadly competition that is televised to the public in order to save her sister.
Wuthering Heights written by Emily Bronte –
The movie adaptation for this book will be released in 2026 which is why I need to read it soon. The story is a dark, passionate love story filled with revenge and obsession. I am hoping this book won’t feel like I’m reading a book assigned for English class.
That will conclude my 2026 TBR list despite the many, many other books I did not list. Let me know what books are on your list that I should add to my 2027 TBR!
