INSANO Review

INSANO Review

Rapper Kid Cudi’s INSANO is his 11th career album and a must-listen. It has an incredibly unique and colorful album cover developed by KAWS. This album is filled with new and unique beats along with elite features such as A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Pharell Williams, Lil Wayne, XXXTENTACION, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, and DJ Drama who tells a story throughout the intros of the album.

If you have listened to Kid Cudi before you know the gift he has to transition emotions into music. This album feels much different than his prior albums. In the song BLUE SKY, the lyrics read “The sky is blue, oh finally been dreaming of this for a while”. This allows you to understand that he is finally in a good place with his life, which is why this album is all bangers and upbeat songs. Senior Sanjay Moorthy says “Whenever Kid Cudi drops an album it consists of unique and refreshing beats, he is amazing at making every listener entertained. If you listening for the production, it’s there. If you’re listening for the flow, it’s there”.

My top 3 songs: 1. BLUE SKY, this song is my favorite off the album because it is upbeat and makes you feel good.  2. FUNKY WIZARD SMOKE, this melodic beat combined with the classic Cudi humming makes a perfect blend for an elite track.  3. WOW (feat A$AP Rocky), Cudi and Rocky are a classic collab having previous songs: Brothers off Cudi’s album Indicud, then A$AP Forever off Rocky’s album TESTING. Honorable Mentions: HIT THE STREETZ IN MY NIKES, SEVEN (feat Lil Wayne), and ELECTROWAVEBABY

This was a very successful album and is personally one of my favorite Kid Cudi Albums. Many people are not a fan of this album because they compare it to his previous albums but this one is so different I don’t believe it is comparable, it is in a category of its own.

Overall this album is a 9.5/10
