Tryouts for boys lacrosse were on February 26th and 27th. All players are welcome to try out no matter your skill level. You will make the team and be taught the basics of playing lacrosse and learn how to get better. The boy’s lacrosse team has an easier and better chance of winning region this year because most teams that won in previous years lost all of their good seniors. I asked Timpview lacrosse senior Andrew Clifford if the team is better this year in comparison to previous years. He said “The team has lost a ton of good players, but this year we can really work on being a team and we should be able to win some games.” The Lacrosse team had their first game on Saturday the 9th. Going into the 4th quarter it was 5-6 Timpview was down. With 13 seconds left, Junior Mason Esplin scores a goal to tie the game 6-6. With six seconds left the other team scored a goal to send timpview back home with a loss. I interviewed Timpview Junior Zach Russ about the game this past Saturday. Zach says that it was a pretty defensive game the whole time. Goalies from Timpview and Payson both played very well. Russ says that timpview is way better than Payson and that we should’ve won. The lacrosse team feels optimistic about this season let’s see what they have to bring to the table this year.
