Baseball season is right around the corner! They had a baseball camp this past weekend in St George. They will be playing at Pine View High School on Friday and Saturday. On those days they will be playing their JV and Varsity. Timpview Junior Tyler Weed says that “the team’s mentality is better this year”. Weed says that they have a fresh start to this upcoming season as they have new members who aren’t used to losing. This could help the team a lot seeing that in the last two years, they have only won eight varsity games. We interviewed four of the players all from different grades. They all are feeling optimistic about this season. Sophomore True Anderson says that the camp this weekend will be “a good bonding experience”. All four boys agreed with Anderson’s comment. They all feel that this will be a great way to come together and learn each other’s game. That’s the way they are going to “dominate this season”. We asked Senior Brigham Richards what’s different about this year in comparison to other years and he stated that the team is “definitely more competitive this year.” Richards’s comment is most accurate because he has been on this team for the past four years and he’s experienced the highs and lows of Timpview baseball. With the head coach leading the team and a new dynamic brought by new assistant coaches, this year is looking promising. We asked Anderson if he thinks they will win some games this year and he stated that “ it’ll be their best season in a long time”. All the boys think the unification they experienced at camp this weekend will be a good start to the season so that they can dominate on the field and have fun.  Max Clark is excited about this upcoming season and wants to  “provide some strength for the team, win some baseball games, and have some laughs along the way.” Well there you have it. The baseball boys are all feeling hopeful for this new season. Let’s wish them some luck as they learn to work together to conquer this upcoming season.
