Hello, fellow dance lovers! Today I will be guiding you through one of the great privileges of High School, school dances! More importantly the most fun part of the day… the day date!!
The day date is a very important and crucial part of the school dance. The day date allows you to engage with your date and interact with them, it also allows you to hang out with your group and get to know everybody to further enjoy the rest of your day. Today in this article, I will be providing a top 10 list of fun and enjoyable activities for you and your date to do, in case you don’t know where to start, so let’s get straight into it!
#10: Snow Tubing at Soldier Hollow
Ahhhhh yes. A snow time adventure to say the least. This activity is one of the best for this time of year, but make sure to bring layers, it can get a little chilly ;). Although this option is great the rest of the list is truly a sight to see.
#9: Paintball
Paintball is a classic choice for any group! Although it may be quite physical and painful at times for people in your group it is a very fun and active activity. Who doesn’t love shooting people with paint!
#8: The Grid
If you haven’t gone to the grid you are truly missing out! The grid is a 2 level go-kart speed racing experience. It is perfect for a group to get a little competitive and see who’s the fastest, with the addition of an arcade that you can utilize while waiting for your race to start. However, due to the steep prices, this activity is placed at #8.
#7: Mini-golf
At #7 we have a classic. Two words, MINI GOLF!! What is there to say about mini golf that hasn’t already been said, first of all, we have a great local mini golf course right on 800 North, second of all mini golf is a fun but challenging activity for golfers and non golfers alike! Mini Golf is a great option filled with lots of enjoyable obstacles which creates some friendly competition!
#6: Setting up a scavenger hunt yourselves
A scavenger hunt is one thing, but to make it and design the different levels to your scavenger hunt yourselves just makes it 10x better! Nothing screams a mystery like knowing exactly what to do once you get to a problem. With the scavenger hunt, you can split into teams with your date and race to the finish against the rest of your group. Some great places that I recommend doing your scavenger hunt could be in downtown Provo or maybe even Provo Beach!
#5: Spend a day at the University Mall
We have arrived at #5, every other idea up to this point has been pretty ¨meh¨ in terms of what we have next. The university mall is an amazing start to this top Five. If you were to ask somebody ¨what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear university mall?¨ You most likely wouldn´t get the same answer. This is exactly why the university mall is an amazing place to spend your whole day. The amount of variety and different activities to do are almost endless. You could start with a fun roll around the mall on the animal scooters, then take a stop at Zumiez or Hot Topic! You could even make a stop at Gamestop for any gamers in your group 😉 . Finally to finish off your day go get a 15-minute massage from the lovely ladies (and gentlemen) at the massage kiosk. You’ll be sure to leave rejuvenated and ready for the dance!
#4: Organize and play a game of croquet
This is a pretty obvious pick, and should be pretty easy for everyone to set up! Pretty much everyone in your group will have a croquet set lying around in their garage so just grab one and get started! Once it’s set up go play the beloved game of croquet and enjoy yourselves with your group!
#3: Hike the Y
We have reached the top 3 ladies and gentlemen. From here on out we have an array of pretty stacked choices. Any of these options are sure to be a hit and a great time with your group. Hiking the Y is one of the cornerstones of our great city of Provo! Nothing says a fun time like hiking straight up a dirt trail for close to an hour and touching down on our beloved Y. The view itself of the Y is nothing more than breathtaking compared almost identically to the view from a three-minute drive up Quail Valley!
#2: Play a 1000-piece puzzle
At number #2. This was a very hard choice but it came down to personal enjoyment for myself and for a group setting. This being said this pick is an almost perfect day date for your whole group. Who wouldn’t want to spend their whole day of a dance, sitting at a table and making a beautiful puzzle with your date. You can even do a challenge with your group where you can not leave the table until the puzzle is completed. There truly is no exaggeration when I say this is one of the greatest day dates for any dance.
#1: Museum of Mormon History
We have finally reached the peak of the mountaintop. It’s been a long way coming but it’s not much of a surprise to see the Museum of Mormon History taking this #1 spot, act surprised all you want but we all know deep down this is the greatest place to spend your Saturday morning, afternoon and possibly just skipping dinner and the dance altogether to spend more time here! With Swig being right next to the museum you can pick up some Dirty Diet Coke and go about your amazing experience at the one and only. Museum of Mormon History.
