Over the past couple of years, timpview has been consistent in beating our rivals Orem High School in basketball. Last year we played Orem 3 times in basketball and won twice in very close and intense games. We even beat the Tigers in the semi-finals. This rivalry has been building up over the past year and sadly in a neck-to-neck game on Tuesday the 16th Orem won and stomped our Thunderdome. This loss was a big defeat for the students and players of Timpview High School and the basketball team. Fortunately, we get the chance to play them again later this year, will we get Orem next time? Let’s see what our basketball boys have to say. Timpview Junior Corbyn Hansen says in preparation for the next game their team is going to “try to come out better with more intensity.” I asked him if they thought they could beat Orem. Hansen says “Yeah it’s going to be a challenge”. Hansen explained that he doesn’t think they played their best last game, if they can be on their A game they’ll have a good chance of winning. I also got some input from Timpview Senior Austin Trail. Austin backed up what Corbyn had to say but also stated “I think we are better than Orem is, we just need to work together as a team to play overall better.” Well there you have it! It sounds like we might have a fair shot at winning this next game! Let’s wish some good luck to the Timpview basketball team and hope for a win.
