T-Birds at work: Peter Snow

Chick-Fil-A
T-Birds+at+work%3A+Peter+Snow

Where do you work?

Chick-Fil-A

How long have you worked there?

Two years

How did you get started at your job?

I interviewed and started the summer after my freshman year.

What do you do during a normal shift?

Taking orders, preparing food, and serving.

What do you like about your job?

Interacting with people constantly and meeting new people.

How many hours/days a week do you spend at your job?

During the summer, 25-30 hours a week. During the school year, only around five.

How do you balance schoolwork, extracurriculars, and a job?

I only work on Fridays and Saturdays. The rest of the week is for school and sports.

What is the craziest story you have about your job?

Crazy things happen every week so I don’t remember all of them. On the 4th of July, I made a massive American flag out of sauce packets, and during the winter we slide through the drive-through like we’re ice skating to take orders.

Do you think your job will impact your life after high school? If so, how?

Yes. I’m getting a ton of good experience with interacting with people in a more professional environment. I’m also building my resume a bit.

In your opinion, why should high schoolers have part-time jobs?

I think it gives everyone a good experience with working with people. I think fast food is a perfect place to start when learning basic life skills like managing finances and good social skills, which in my opinion is the most important skill one can pick up.
